Daiwa Vietnam held a groundbreaking ceremony for a sports equipment production factory worth US$40 million in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone in Da Nang on December 15.

The project covers 4ha and is expected to be completed by January 10, 2022.

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh said that the construction of the Daiwa factory is one of the specific results of the close cooperation between the city government and investors from Japan in recent years.

This is the third investment project of the Japanese company in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, with a total investment in the three projects of US$90 million.

This is also another basis upon which to affirm that Da Nang city has controlled and gradually overcome the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Minh noted.

Industrial zones in Da Nang have attracted 16 new projects including one FDI project in 2020, raising the total number of projects to 491, including 128 FDI projects.

Japanese investors account for the largest number of projects in industrial zones in Da Nang with 52 projects and total investment capital of US$644.39 million.
